WFHA is very pleased to award its 2023-24 senior scholarship to Eva Filipponi, the Warriors' varsity co-captain and standout goalie.  The scholarship is awarded annually to the most deserving senior player, as voted upon by all members of the varsity team. 

Eva has been playing field hockey for six years (a few years after her brother put her in the cage for driveway hockey). She is honored to have shared the role of captain this season and was captain of her freshman team as well. 

Eva also plays for AGH Club Field Hockey club, she’s a member of the WHS varsity golf team, and serves as a coach/referee for Wilton Youth Field Hockey.

Beyond sports, Eva is the vice president of Foster Friends, treasurer of Key Club, a Unified Sports mentor, a Morgan’s Message representative, an American Cancer Society member and a SafeRides volunteer. She is also a member of the National Honor Society and the manager at Scoops ice cream shop. 

Eva has loved playing hockey alongside so many friends at Wilton High and will have a tough good-bye. She is excited to play for Bowdoin College next fall as she heads off to pursue her dreams.
